We are excited to invite you to our next Continuous Professional Development (CPD) event, this time in collaboration with the University of Cincinnati's Pharmacy Leadership MS Program! This program, Use Case of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare will be led by Salwa Arafa, PhD, RPh, and facilitated by Cleveland Clinic HSPAL resident, Michael Carlone, PharmD, and will take place Thursday, October 9th, from 12:00-1:00 PM EST.
Artificial intelligence (AI) offers promising solutions to address burnout and workforce attrition in healthcare, both of which jeopardize patient care and system sustainability. However, these technologies also pose risks, such as potential job loss, increased medical information complexity, and erosion of clinical skills. To maximize AI's benefits, it is crucial to prioritize technologies that reflect stakeholder values and support the re-humanization of medical practice. Using that approach, leaders can develop jobs for the frontline workforce that focus on their main responsibilities as caregivers.
Salwa Arafa, PhD, RPh, holds a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences (focus in Neuroscience) from the University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy. She currently serves as a Pharmacist II Operations Specialist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and is pursuing a MSc in Pharmacy Leadership at the JLW College of Pharmacy. Salwa was featured on AI in healthcare panels and interviews, and she is a passionate advocate for responsible AI for the betterment of healthcare (and humanity in general).
